Hi from Notts.

Hi guys,
Just a brief introduction from a returnee... I’ve been interested in model railways for many more years than I care to remember.
The days of steam are always looked back on as a time of fun and excitement , the trains seemed much bigger and louder then full of huff and puff. I remember as a boy sitting for hours by the “ Lickey Incline “ watching the trains struggling , screeching and slipping in their attempts to reach the top , even with a helping hand or two !!
We forget about the soot ingrained clothes and watering eyes full of grit ... Halcyon days ..
Excuse my reminiscing...
I have at the moment just finished a 45ft or so round the room layout ( without the Lickey incline ) and have decided to go with analogue Control this time .. I have dabbled with Dcc for the past 4 or 5 years and still have my prodigy advanced 2 and power cab controllers but do not like flicking through lists and remembering numbers .. but that’s another story.. I’ll keep you up to date with developments and look forward to picking your brains in the future

Welcome to the friendly forum. Any chance of some photos Ray - of your layout, not you. It’s not that kind of forum!

Yet another welcome. Stick at it, ask away if you have issues to resolve, there's always a friendly reply or two, too.

Welcome.

Thanks for the welcome guys, I’ve heard only good things about this forum .
As for photos Bandit ;I can do that ,But at the moment it’s only baseboards , track , a viaduct and ideas .
I’m just in the throws of working out where to put the isolation areas. And to be honest it’s the part of construction I like best.
