Seems like a brisk model rail business done in the UK. Here in the USA, hobby shops
in droves, particularly model rail, shuttering up well before CV. Most young people and
above are interested in video games. The latter leave me stone bored, I simply
cannot think of anything less interesting to do with my free time. With model trains
I create. Video games are so vapid, so ephemeral, by contrast.

Same here Chops. Model railways need introducing to youngsters at an early age, very few discover the hobby in later life. But IMHO enthusiasm for the hobby has lost much of it's appeal over the past couple of generations so the excitement is not being passed down. I think this has had a bearing on the demise of model railway retailers, as like the US we have gone through a period of "downsizing" of the breadth of small independent shops in the UK, so many of us now rely on on-line shops to satisfy our needs.

Stay safe yourself Eagle. You could always build small dioramas to "keep your hand in". Or why not a small shunting layout, say 4x2 feet which you can always lose under the bed when the missus wants the kitchen table back! Whatever you decide hope you stay safe and well.eagle125 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 6:52 pmOK ......but i just wondered how supplies were accessed , for the last 6 yrs i enjoyed building my layout and altering it now and again .We have talked before a bout cost etc and i have said ya pay ya money and takes ya choice . My choice to say a fond farewell to the model railway scene ,the loft is not viable anymore and there no other room
stay safe everyone
