I was in HobbyCraft today and thought these would be a useful addition to the toolbox. Only 25mm long with a strong spring. £1.50 for fifty.

Handy for Mini Washing line. I could have used them this aft, whilst trying to keep some TT flexi, with a mind of its own, in place
