HELP PLEASE WITH IRJ & RLM LOCATIONS
Help please, I have finally decided on my track plan after much planning, measuring, laying out, fiddling about etc and I now need some help and guidance with where I will need to fit IRJ's.
Also, will I need a Reverse Loop Module on the right hand side of my oval???
Just to clarify, the four tracks going off to the bottom of the oval image will connect up to the other four tracks on the second plan.
I am using Peco electrofrog points in OO and will be DCC.
Thank you in advance for your your help.

Hi
If you follow the simple rule of two Insulated Rail Joiners (IRJs) per Electrofrog point and fitted onto the points Vee rail ends then you wont go wrong. After the IRJs rail feeds (Droppers) will be needed. So for example on a cross-over pair of points four IRJs would be used - Two on the straight ahead Vee rails and two on the crossover rails.
You can example here if it helps? https://www.brian-lambert.co.uk/Electri ... lectrofrog
Note: I have fitted IRJs to all rails but haven't shown feeds, I'm assuming you will run a DCC bus pair of wires around the layout and tap off this bus with Droppers to the rails in as many places as possible.
Looking at the two images I can't see a reverse loop?

Re: HELP PLEASE WITH IRJ & RLM LOCATIONS
Brian, thank you, that is very very helpful. Yes I will be fitting droppers as suggested.
If a loco leaves from the bottom track of my dog leg section, travels across the points and out around the oval clockwise, and then comes back in on to that same bottom track on my dog leg section do my + and - feeds clash and if so how do I solve it?

On my initial log, if you turn the dog leg image anti clockwise 90 degrees then that is how it will connect up.

Re: HELP PLEASE WITH IRJ & RLM LOCATIONS
So my question was -
If a loco leaves from the right hand track of my dog leg section, travels across the three crossovers and out around the oval clockwise, and then comes back in on to that same bottom right hand track on my dog leg section do my + and - feeds clash and if so how do I solve it?

Re: HELP PLEASE WITH IRJ & RLM LOCATIONS
Understand now
So if it were mine, I would fit IRJs (8 in all) to all the tracks on the station board where I've shown the red lines cutting across the rails and feed all rails after these IRJs from the output of a RLM.
The only thing you have then to worry about is to only let one loco/train into or out of those tracks at any one time. You can of course have as many locos inside the RLM section, even moving about, but only one must leave or enter at a time.
Don't forget if Electrofrog points are used they still need their own IRJs on each point as well. (I've not shown these for clarity).
I have shown the RLM's output feeding a separate DCC sub bus pair of wires then all tracks inside the isolated section are feed from this sub bus. Ensure all Green bus feeds go to the same handed rail and all Blue feeds to the opposite handed rails. e.g. Green sub bus feeds all righthand rails. Colours are for drawing clarity and not necessary to be used.

Brian, thank you very much for this, as a novice I can understand your recommendations and how to do this, it is much appreciated.
