This is a very nice book with details of the working life of RHN (Dick) Hardy. It gives details of the day to day working of being a railway worker and moving up the ranks. There are quite a few photos of other railwaymen on or around locomotives with very nice details of them and the locos. It is a chronological account with sections defined by year. One of those books that is not all loco pictures but a mix of photos and recap dialogue. A book for reading rather than looking just at pictures. Well worth a read for any railway enthusiast to find out about the real world of real railways and the men who work on them.

Thanks Vespa I might obtain a copy.

Amazon £14-74 hard back, free delivery. Like you say a bit cheaper on eBay.
