Just before Christmas I was walking past our bin when I heard a voice saying “Save me!” A box file had been thrown out by my wife so I thought to myself, “That could come in handy.” Whilst recovering from a visit to hospital I took the box file from its hiding place and proceeded to move over to the ‘dark side’. A box file layout was begun. I admire those who embark on a large layout, but working within an A4 footprint is something else! I’ll post more pictures as work progresses.

PS The buildings are only roughly placed for now.
PPS Apologies to real railway modellers of a sensitive disposition. I’m sure I’ll soon come to my senses!!

I don’t want to mislead or deceive anyone - an A4 box file is a bit bigger than A4. It’s about 2 inches longer and 1 inch wider. I suppose this allows you to get your hand inside to retrieve the papers stored within.

It's amazing what you can produce just by walking past a bin :) It looks very good.

Bang on WTD. Mind you, in my defence, I am modelling in OO!
PS Fiddle sticks each end are an added extra so really I am cheating - it’s nothing like A4 after all!!!!

By the way Mick I hope the hospital visit wasn’t due to you overruling your wifes decision to dump the box. :D

Nah - I’d still be there now. When she puts you down, you don’t get up!
