Re: Lostock Junction
5-05pm : having dropped off her brake van at the exchange sidings, the 2MT runs tender first into the station on the Down Main
before crossing over the Up Main and onto shed
firstly onto the pit road where the ash and clinker is removed from her firebox
and then onto the coaling stage road where her tender will be refilled with coal and water ready for the next day.

Re: Lostock Junction
Thanks Mick,
Based on memories of going round my local shed (8E Northwich) right at the end of steam.

5:10pm Ex LMS Jinty 0-6-0 tank loco 47354 moves off shed
crosses over both main lines
and enters the goods yard
to collect a brake van.

Re: Lostock Junction
5-30pm : after waiting for the 5-20pm Down Semi-Fast to pass, the Jinty has crossed over from the yard and shunted her brake van across to the shed to collect two empty coal wagons and a stores van from the coaling stage supply road.
She then pulls her short train onto the Up Main before running round via the Down Main (she needs to have cleared the Up Main in time for the 5-40pm Up Semi-Fast to pass through).
She then pulls her train across to the Down Main
and is then seen pulling away under the road bridge.

6-10pm : A WD Austerity 2-8-0 rounds the curve adjacent to the loco shed with a loaded iron ore train
and is then seen passing through the station.
Unfortunately the photographer will not capture the corresponding empty working which occurs after dark.
The real reason is more pragmatic - the iron ore wagons came with fixed loads, so I don't have any empty ones

6-40pm : Jinty 47354 rounds the curve with a short loco shed supply train.
Having shunted into the loco shed area she first leaves the brake van on one of the shed roads
before propelling the stores van to the end of the sheerlegs road
and then shunting two loaded coal wagons onto the coaling stage supply road.
