There has been a lot about this over the last year or so. His plan is or was to take it on tour using empty shops, there are lots of those about, to display it.

This one would give Heaton Lodge a run for its money This particular video clip does not appear to include where the track runs outside of the building, therefore extending the run.

I think Heaton Lodge does win the prize of being the biggest "UK" layout, but I would think the cost of setting up Over Peover dwarfs anything else. Most of the stock on Over Peover is from Golden Age Models - the "0" gauge loco's run at about £3k each and the Pullman Coaches were about £750 - each. The guy also had the building purpose built. You have probably read that the owner, John Ryan, owns Doncaster Rovers FC.

Heaton Lodge is fantastic. The owner enquired of a commercial estate agent whether they had any warehouses on their books, which they did not, but they said they had a warehhouse basement - hence the space to build. When we are back to normal, this layout is supposed to be doing the rounds of the country - I think there will now be a bit more large empty shop space available Some of the buildings on the layout were built by the late Allan Downes - a member of this (the original) forum.
