Peco Electrofrog points

#1

Post by GaryH »

Hi I have just got a pair of Peco short radius RH points when put together (crossover joining) I found that the two outside rails are only 50mm apart centre to centre advice is 67mm apart, looked at medium and they are the same how do you get round this. do you cut a piece of straight to go between or is there another piece of track you can get to get spacing right

Buy a length of flexi track and cut a piece off to fill the gap. You’re bound to use it up somewhere.

50mm is the natural Streamline track spacing while 67mm is Setrack/Hornby spacing.
Do as suggested and add a short cut piece of track in the cross-over direction.
If they are Electrofrog Streamline points don't forget to add Insulated Rail Joiners (IRJs) on the points Vee rail ends (4 in all for a cross over) and the add rail feeds as needed after the IRJs.
Failure to fit IRJs where Electrofrog points are used will result in a short circuit!
