Single track shunting layout

has anyone ever built a single track shunting layout ? Many thanks in advance for your answers.

If I understand the 'shunting' idea correctly on layouts then it would involve at least one point. A back and forth layout is of course possible, but in terms of 'shunting' and changing wagon/coaches it wouldn't be possible without a point. Of course the point could be in a fiddle yard.

You're absolutely right folks. Without a point or a traverser, it's only a diorama.
