Sure thing, Boss ! :D
Question: do I need insulated rail joiners between the points ?

If you're using two DC controllers then yes, fit two IRJs in the cross over rails between the two points

I rather like the entrance and exit from outer loop to inner loop. Something that I may think about if I ever decide to monk around with Henley's
track plan. If you're adding DCC into the mix, that track plan would make for some interesting operations as you try to work two trains around
in opposed directions.

Where I do have #4 points intersecting the main, it is always a little breath taking the degree to which passenger coaches lurch horizontally to make the turn. Fortunately, they generally make it. I imagine your facing points will form a bit of an acid-test for longer wheel based equipage.
