I happened to find two people who wanted them. One on one forum who loves to get old wagons and parts to do up and he does an exceedingly good job, and another on a narrow gauge forum who has amazed me with his work by transforming a 00 gauge brake van into a 009 brake van. I asked him if he wanted any more bodies and he said "Yes please".
So I sorted out a pair of brake van bodies for the one, and for the other I sorted out the remaining brake van body, a van body and one or two roofs (He had one missing on one of his goods vans) and a few other bits and pieces he might need. (I thrive on old 00 gauge parts to convert to 7mm narrow gauge, but some parts I won't need as they are not so easy to scale up).
So I had these two small parcels wrapped up ready to post.
I drove to the local post office, and due to covid I often can't face going into shops and the like, so my Mum goes. (She finds she can't cope going into some shops so we sometimes have to drive distances to go shopping).
Without thinking as my Mum needed to know what was in the two small packages I said "Body parts". Well, she knows what I mean...
But at the post office, she was not thinking, so when she was asked what was in them she said "Body parts" which gave the lady behind the counter an unusual situation to deal with. My Mum said that the lady was looking very concerned (They probably thought we were odd before!
) and was about to reach for the panic button when my Mum realized what she had said and said "It is to do with my sons trains" and all was ok... It is one of those things which can happen with my family.
We all get our moments I guess...
