Teed, hi, sorry to hear about your wrist. Good time to follow Tour, as they head up to the mountains. Love or hate cycling, the views and scenery, make it worth watching. I have a son in US, who rode with Lance Armstrong, and still rides 50 miles, daily. So we do take an interest.

One of the guys I work with in the fields is a keen cyclist and has one of Armstrongs bikes he bought at an auction for £3000.

I'm not anti cycling, just find four wheel racing more exciting having watched F1 since I was a teenager seeing the likes of Hill, Clark, Brabham and Surtees etc battling it out in the early 60s.
I'm quite amazed and amused at the vitriolic responses on here regarding footy though, just makes me laugh out loud.

Our daughter is an avid football fan. She used to help out at Wycombe Wanderers when it was in the Vauxhall Conference. When I say help out I don’t mean play although she was the mascot for their first game at the new stadium Adams Park. She says it was the best football of all then went down hill when they were promoted in to division 3 or was it 4. She’d rather watch Rugby now.

I did watch the second half of the game against Germany. Enjoyed the football but as usual it was the antics and behaviour of the commentators and the ‘fans’ that put me off.
Shame really as I used to play - leading goal scorer, Slough and District Industrial League 1978/81, also had a trial for Windsor & Eton FC...........it was their loss.

Our only claim to fame was training at Bisham Abbey which was also used by England as their training base at the time and by a few tennis players in the lead up to Wimbledon.

none of the above for me as my favorite sport is motorsport, I watch 11 different racing series the weekend always provides so much to offer. The internet may have killed the High Street but it continues to provide me with a passion going back 40+ years. This is why the layout is still not finished

Used to follow speedway when i lived in Hoddesdon not far from the Rye House race track next to the go cart circuit where Lewis Hamilton raced when he was young. The interest in speedway started in the 50s when dad took me to Haringay Stadium in North London to watch the Racers with riders like Split Waterman. The sport looks like it may be Getting more popular lately with the TV coverage at the moment. I Supported Hackney Hawks and Rye House Rockets which now sadly no longer exist.
