Nah, they are all Daguerreotypes. :D

For the record, my ‘library’ runs to around 93,000 files.

Sprint Qualifying, who ever thought that up, total waste of time and effort. The old system works fine.

I quite enjoyed the first couple of laps then it dawned on me that the cars had effectively shuffled themselves into race order which could have a detrimental effect on tomorrow’s race.

Having attended races, home and abroad for almost forty years I think I am qualified to comment on the latest format, relative to previous iterations, from a spectator’s perspective.

On a Friday there used to be two sessions, an hour and a half free practice followed by a one hour qualifying session. The same on Saturday with the fastest times from either quali sessions setting the grid. Come Sunday and there would be a half hour warm up in the morning with the race starting at 1:00pm that afternoon.

The length of those sessions gave sufficient time to make full use of a general admission ticket to wander from corner to corner and not miss anything on track - think how useful that was to someone (me) trying to take a set of reasonably varied photos.

Now compare that with yesterday. The morning free practice has been cut to 60 minutes, and with no natural lulls in the action there is no chance to change location. That was followed by qualifying where five cars were thrown out after 20 mins, another five were locked away 15 mins later, leaving just ten cars for the last ten minutes.

Today consisted of a one hour practice where the teams weren’t allowed to make any setup changes followed by a 30 minute race where little happened after the first few laps.

Tomorrow, no warm up, race approximately ninety minutes.

Now look at the price of tickets and try to explain the concept of value for money.......

But I’ll keep on going. :D

The jury is still out for me regards the sprint, first couple of laps were exciting but then it settled down to a train as each driver was more concerned with cementing their grid slot rather than risk anything pushing for something better.

The race on the other hand was a different matter, drama and controversy at the start reminiscent of the days of Schumacher, Senna and Prost. It will be gloves off for the rest of the season between Red Bull and Mercedes. Whilst it has already been gloves off between Hamilton and Verstappen it looks like it will go to no quarter shown.

The final stages were worth the wait, there is no finer sight in F1 than Hamilton with his dander up carving through the field to take the win.

Couldn't agree more Richard.

Can't fathom the penalty though. There is an FIA document that clearly defines who should yield during a overtaking manoeuvre depending on the relative positions of the cars. Based on that, there was no infringement.
