I see Sir Clive Sinclair has died, I once built one of his Stereo 60 amps but never got into his computers being more into starting out on a Vic 20 before moving onto PETs and BBC model B.

Anyone here ever owned a C5?

No, but I had a Spectrum and learned the Basic programming language from it which I still use a version of today.
Most people are shocked when they find out how bad I am as an electrician

My route into computing (I became a teacher of computing) was similar to yours except I never built a stereo.
PET computers BBC model A's then B's then Master's. Then PC's - into building my own PC a few times, multiple upgrades of my own and others.

Now I stick to ready built top end computers and laptops for me as computer fairs to buy cheap parts are sadly no more. (Before computer fairs I attended a number of model rail fairs of the same type but they're no more either, replaced by either club offerings or big shows like York.)
