I have a Triang Hornby Coronation class in Blue(with the silver stripes)
I bought a few much more recent coaches (Hornby ) to match.these were made in Margate.
I then had an idea of buying a China made version. This is scale length. Having also bought a few coaches (China) I now found the ride height is noticeably different if you want to run China made and Margate made in the same rake together. Maybe I am being fussy but I would guess this problem arises in other models too.
Has anyone had this problem if so can I slice a bit of plastic off the bogie ?

Re: coronation coaches(china/margate)
I would gather the lower ones are the older versions ? I would put a washer or make washers from plasticard to raise the height of the older coaches. But in my heart of hearts, I would put the older ones on the bay and buy more of the ones you prefer.
If only there was enough hours in the day..................John
Re: coronation coaches(china/margate)
thanks for your response. Ive had a close look at these bogies. For some reason the revamped China version has had a remould so that presumably they sit lower for more realism. Theres less of a gap between bogie and body when viewed from side. The bogie pivot has been "flattened". You are right I could put a washer in to raise them......a lot easier than trying to lower the Margate models. The China version is lower than Margate version.
Hmmmm, maybe I will have to think about this one.

What you could do is use different size wheels to match the ride heights.
Budget modelling in 0-16.5...

different wheels to change ride height, good thought. I will see what I have.
