Hello!
Hi, my name is Francesca and I am a 20 year old international student in Glasgow. My whole life I have been passionate about trains, started off as just a railway enthusiast but now starting as a beginner hobbyist with my first project layout.
I joined this forum because I am seeking good advice and in general just to meet other rail fans! I don't know anyone my age or female who is interested and I would really appreciate engaging with some that as me found happiness in this world! Hope you are all doing well and if you know of any sites I should check or groups near Glasgow I could join I would appreciate the tips!

Re: Hello!
Hello, thanks for the welcome! The set I got was Hornby R.671 Country Local OO gauge, which features a LMS Jinty 0-6-0 16440 steam locomotive. The reason for this being my first purchase is that the original 47357 was built in Glasgow and felt like it was meant to be! I also just acquired today a Freight Hauler set and a LNER 8473 locomotive which should be arriving next week!

Hi Francesca, welcome to the forum. Looking forward to hearing more of your progress. There is a directory published every Friday and circulated by email. It is free and this link will take you to their home page where you can sign up if you wish. It includes details about exhibitions and lots of other model railway information. R-
Young at heart. Slightly older in other parts.
