It was absolutely rammed at the NYMR today but it looked as if most of the punters were sticking to the platforms rather than riding the rails. But then the platforms are free and a ticket to ride demands a choice of which kidney to donate.

I did manage to get a good place to view from alongside the station throat at Grosmont, set up my phone to catch all the movements of Sir NigelGresley which looked and sounded fantastic......then, as it disappeared down the tunnel, I realised I’d pressed the wrong button on the damn phone.

I’ll have to go back on Sunday. ;)

Thanks Steve beautifully filmed. Love the A4 in black. Think you need to weather it though.

I agree, superb filming Steve. Not sure about black A4's - I've seen it before but prefer green. With the volume turned up you only needed the smell of steam and oil and you were there.

I agree with Barry I prefer a green A4 but prefer black to blue.

It looks as if it's just come out of the Hornby warehouse (now used for storage of 1:1 locos apparently), definitely needs some light weathering!

I have a significant birthday coming up in the next couple of months and had hoped that I would be able to resume my previously regular spring trip to Barcelona. But with no F1 testing out there again that idea has been shelved.
Then I got the idea of a long weekend ‘oop north’ and will be staying at a small hotel in the Yorkshire Dales for a long weekend (dogs welcome so that’s a bonus).
It then turns out that this coincides with the K&WVR spring gala! Honestly, I only found out after I had booked it. :D
