No email received here. It’s not An issue as I now have both versions on order! I guess at some point I will be able to cancel the ‘silent’ version before it’s released. I presume that I will be able to correct the lack of discount once I renew next month. I was going to have to buy a TXS decoder for the original order which would have put the total cost up to what I paid for today’s preorder so no big deal if I can’t unravel it.

I see a few are grumbling about the price but if you compare the features on the Deltic with the Dapol black label A4 from a few years ago then the Deltic is favourably competitive. And to think the A4 was £400 five years ago yet the TXS Deltic, with discount, will be around £320.

I've been trying to get the retaining wall weathered. I have been using "washes" but even though well stirred, they appear to dry with a satin finish rather than matt. I still have to add track dirt along the bottom half inch, as suggested by Steve, and some greenery.

They don’t ‘shine’ in that photo Barry. If push comes to shove you could give them a quick blast of Matt lacquer - Halfords sell a rattlecan of the stuff.
I think you will find that the finish will dull a bit with time (or as dust gathers ).

Some Engineering bricks do have a satin finish even after many decades.

Iv noticed a wall in an old goods yard near me built in blue engineers bricks, very old and they still have a shine to them.

Serious light-bleed in the new Hornby Brake/Baggage coach. It will require an interior paint job. I might also fit a "shelf" to take the battery holder (glued/bluetac/double-sided tape?) - in the other coaches there is a space in the floor for the battery holder to clip into - not so with the brake/baggage coach - this would stop the battery holder rattling around and tugging on the wires.

Thanks Carl - I have Hornby Magazine going back to issue No.1 all kept in slip-binders - so all in superb as purchased condition. The problem is they take up about eight feet of shelf-space and growing . Then there are about two hundred and twenty copies of Cavallino Magazine (fantastic Ferrari mag) a similar sized collection of Forza (another Ferrari specialist mag) and a full set of Supercar Classics Magazine (1983-1991) - then there is large collection of Autocourse F1 annuals 1968-2015. They will probably all end up in the recycling bin one day.

I think a complaint to Hornby would be in order BB. Disgusting production if you ask me. Especially what they are priced at.
