Thank you for your kind comments bb & BM. They are much appreciated.

When the grandchildren were younger the Hornby Railroad four wheeled coaches were ideal for them to handle and operate. Now they are older (the youngest is 7 years old) they want to run diesels. That has left me with a fair size of four wheeled coaches and freight wagons. Slowly I have been getting rid of the Railroad items, replacing them with Hornby Generic Era 2 ones.

Three new ones arrived today.

Two L&SWR All Third ones I will use on the Leeds to Wetherby service with the All First one I already have.

The two new ones.

The three together.

The third carriage purchased is a All Third six wheeled LNWR one. It will run with a All First six wheeler and a four wheeled Railroad one.

Just three Hornby Railroad four wheelers in 'Southern Green Livery' to dispose of now. :)

Recently I was offered a GWR Autocoach and a few other bits and bobs for £8.00 including postage.
Okay it is not true to the area modelled, but it was too good an offer.

Image

With Rule 1 coming into play I repainted it into L&Y livery. With 0.4.0 locomotive 'Katie' attached it is on the Leeds Sovereign to Clarence Dock service.

Your autocoach is in much better condition than mine I must say.
Something of a bargain I think.

Super pictures as usual - I like the second one, looks cold, damp and grimy.

Thank you for your kind comments, bb.
If you mean the scene at Clarence Dock; clear varnish here and there gives a wet look with areas drying out.

When I am by myself operating steam engines on passenger services is easy going. The running of freight trains is more challenging.

Running Freight.

People are watching the southbound ammunition train as it passes through Roseville station. The cat on the shed roof is not interested.

The train arriving at Leeds Sovereign Street Station. The locomotive will run round, uncouple the brake van and a couple of movements the brake van will be at the other end of the train

The train now runs to Crown Point Yard.

The train arrives at Crown Point Yard.

Image

A change of locomotive and more wagons attached the train of ammunition and pit props continue south.
Here it pauses at the signal whilst a troop train clears the Junction

Image

Then continues its journey south. It is 1914/1919. The ammunition and pit props are bound for France.
