Repurposing an old coach

#1

Post by Phil s »

Hi all,
For some time now I've been thinking about getting an airbrush, however, because my skill level isn't that high I thought I'd have a go with some rattle cans first, see how I go.
So having a number of very old hornby coaches, I thought I would try and convert one to some sort of test coach...

It won't strictly be correct but it's just a look see project.

A bit of prep work then into make shift paint booth. I got primer and paint from rail match

Managed to get some water transfers from rail Tec transfers.

Not sure about the end result, painted the black widows with a brush (obviously) which in hindsight was a mistake.
Was an interesting project not sure it's worth doing again tbh.

Doesn't look too bad from 4 feet away.

Looks good to me 👍

Thanks for the positive comments guys, may now have a look at doing a couple more and make up a full test train.
