N auge station signs etc

Hi, need some advice on glueing station signs/figures to platforms/bridges etc. Which is the best glue/adhesive to use ? I've used UHU glue and even Superglue but theydon't seem to stick properly which means if I am moving engines/carriages etc, I end up knocking them over

I either use PVA or Tacky Wax. With figures I sometimes drill a hole up through a foot/leg, insert a thin piece of wire, drill a similar hole in the surface and plug the figure on place.
Have to say Tacky Wax is excellent. A small tub goes a very long way.
