Re: Dodgy crank pin on Hornby 'Gordon'
If you give hornby a ring I am sure they will sort it out free of charge. This is quite a standard screw used on lots of Hornby locos. Dont knw the service number is off hand but if you google Hornby you should find it easy enough.
If only there was enough hours in the day..................John

Not that the layout is done I had a chance to give Gordon a good run. The repair to the crank pin has worked perfectly. But the wierd hopping tender when going round curves was still there. I looked and listened closely and it was almost like the gears in the motor were slipping, but manually trying to turn the wheels proved it wasn't that. I then looked again and unless it was going fast I was getting a lot of wheel slip from the tender. I tweaked down the link bar between the loco and the tender to put a bit more weight from the loco onto the tender and now it runs perfectly. I also had to do similar to the front pony truck and it would occasionally derail when going fast through crossovers.
So all in all it's up and running and seems like a successful repair.
