New Bachmann class 37 with Zimo sound

Hello, need some advice with the above just purchased new. It’s a 37/0, which may mean some functions don’t apply, but there are a couple that don’t work that I think should , one is wagons snatching (F14), the other is the Spirax valve (F25)
I must admit this amount of complexity caused me a lot of confusion as I have not had a sound decoder other than Hornby TTS.
I am using a Roco z21, if that is relevant
If anyone has knowledge of this Zimo decoder I would appreciate any help/advice

I had one of the first 37's by Bachmann ready fitted with a sound decoder. I no longer have it as I sold it to a member on one of these sites. I don't remember it having a wagon sounds option so I guess that is to do with the Zimo having a few extras.
While I can't answer your individual question as it has been ages since I have used anything DCC for a long time as I turned to model in 7mm narrow gauge and opted for DC instead. But there should be options to switch CV's on and off, though some DCC control systems may be limited to do this.
My Lenz system is old now BUT I can access most CV's as the ones I can't access I think no one can? Though my Lenz system came out before DCC sound, so I could only access about three quarters of the sounds at any one time, though the other sounds were easy to access via quick programming if needed. Was a case of chosing the sounds I preferred to access...
You may find the odd CV may only operate if another CV is turned on... Hopefully someone will have your answer.

Thanks, I decided to send it back, it had some other strange issues, so I’ve purchased another one. Always a risk today that sometimes the technology fails to meet expectations, fingers crossed for the next one

I apologize I could not be of any more help. If the replacement 37 has similar issues, it will either be the limits of your control system or the model you bought never has been set up with the sounds specified on the leaflet. I am thinking of other possibilities...

What would be good is the traditional model shop in every town where one could pay them a visit and let them rack their brains as they would be far more likely to have come across similar issues before. The issue with mail order is one can't just nip round to sort things. (Unless one is lucky enough to live nearby).

Sadly with today's internet based retail trade is that retailers often can't compete so they close, and often relatively simple things to solve (For those who know their stuff) could have easily been sorted and dealt with.

Forums like this are useful but only if one of us happens to know the answers! Why it can be useful to join more than one forum and go from one to the next until one finds just the right knowledgeable person who happens to know. Sometimes members may not log in for a while who would normally know.. Is how life is!

Will be interesting to see if your replacement is more successful. As mentioned earlier, I was wondering if certain CV's may not turn on unless other CV's are activated. Often one can spend hours on the things trying to get things programmed just right! Been there. Done that! ).

Anyway. Persevere and hopefully you will end up with a satisfying class 37. They are lovely things!
