Please don't laugh (Oh go on then you can!) I'm presently modelling autumn trees using polyfibre and scatters. The problem is all the scatters make the trees (OO gauge) look too 'heavy'. Has anyone ever tried spices? I was thinking that I could leave some out to lose their spiciness before using them. Paprika, nutmeg and similar might be goers. Any thoughts once you've stopped giggling?

Somebody on here uses curry powder to colour the roofs on his buildings.

Anything goes.

Don’t forget trees are huge things. A mature OO oak tree should be about 10 inches tall.

One problem you might have is insects being attracted to the spices. Such things as tiny meal moths and beetles

We haven’t had our kitchen invaded by insects but then again we don’t live in Oz.

That ‘somebody’ is me.
Curry powder is a dead ringer for the yellow lichen you see on many roofs. I seal mine after application with hairspray.

Paella spice mix would work as well, slightly different colour shade though.
