I have been after models of wildlife for a little while.
Yesterday I managed to purchase some models of cats, dogs and birds.
They did not last long in their boxes as they quickly found 'homes' around my layout.

Perhaps something to pull the rapier?
Eventually!

Not sure but 2-8-0 were used in military trains by the gwr.
I found an interesting document with details enough for me.
Think the number is wrong but that’s beyond me!

So, the warflat kits will end up behind this along with the associated coaches and whatever I can conjure up for ramp wagons......
Maybe a scene of what if?
The rapier drafted in to assist/facilitate the building of the hangers on the airfield corner nearest the station.

On with the goodies!

Not sure you are right there WTD. (Though I am going by memory). I seem to recall the 38xx locos were ex.ROD locos? I will need to look it up myself though so I may be wrong. It was years ago that I was a GWR modeller.
Ammended. You are right. My mistake. However, the loco in the box (Is a bit small to see as I have not yet clicked on it to make it larger) does look like and ex. ROD loco. However, now I am puzzled. It has a Swindon boiler... Going to have a look at pictures of an ex.ROD loco to compare! Silly me as I have stood right next to two real 28xx locos.... Though they were both so rusty no paint was showing...

Ah. That's what confused me. The wheel splashers are noticeably pronounced on the model and the ROD locos are pronounced, though they cover three wheels either side of the ROD locos. They are almost hidden on the 28xx locos and cover just the two pairs of rear driving wheels. It could be that some of the 28xx class had visible changes over the years?
