But will the current Bachmann Hattons dispute get resolved, Hattons have had no Bachmann delivery since early November and new releases have come and probably almost gone via other retailers. Suspect its due to Hattons opening up their own range up to other to sell and Bachmann/Kader seeing them as competitor.

There is plainly something wrong as their have been a number of Bachmann and Farish releases since early November that Hattons have not received any - in comparison with Kernow for example who are typically down to a handful or two http://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/c/606/OO-Gauge and http://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/c/608/N-Gauge

Thanks I had no idea. Mind you I wouldn’t have noticed, I just search for the cheapest price and buy from that retailer. Have bought a fair bit from Hattons but maybe not Bachmann.

I think Bachmann must be mad not to deal with Hattons. They may well regret it.

I get plenty of email updates from various online retailers regarding Dapol and Hornby new releases for loco's at least. Not seen much at all relating to Bachmann products recently. I could be wrong and the Hattons story aside but are Bachmann struggling to keep up?

Bachmann are years behind with some of their products, the V2 for instance.

Mind you, does Bachmann need to come out with new models? New development is rather expensive so having a time of rest saves a little money. As long as their products sell and customers are happy with them, then I don't see a problem. When I first came into the hobby with electric trains newly released items were rare. Most were just reliveried items. Though new things did turn up, it wasn't really until the 1990's onwards when each company introduced a new loco (Or more) each year as a regular event. They tried to and would have liked to but they had to be realistic, as it took a lot of work and money which was not a guarantee of a return. A new livery each year (Or a different name and number) did allow those who collected models from a different era the benefit of a ready made model and it did give a little more choice without spending vast sums of money on things which would take a long time to generate returns on.
Has the expectation made it difficult for the manufacturer to keep up?

It seems to have gone unnoticed that Bachmann have recently had to change factories in China at short notice thus compromising this years' planned production........therefore it would not be unreasonable for them to expect a bit of patience & understanding from retailers and customers......the financial impact on Bachmann must be considerable but they have to absorb this and 'carry on'.......HB
