You can switch the system off but it resets every time you lock the car. It’s an absolute pain.
With my luck this week I’m not hopeful for the key fob - I’ll report back.

I have a switch on the dashboard for the stop/start. I start the car then switch the stop/start off, just part of the start the car routine. It’s hardly a Dreamliner is it.

I disable my Skoda stop/start as part of my start procedure also. Climb in press go and hit stop/start disable. On my model it cannot be permanently disabled. The auto-handbrake is seamless and I just forget about it.

As an aside I hope the starter motor is suitably rated for a zillion starts a day. My Volvo starter solenoid (Renault Engine) died within three months of new and they claimed it was overuse. Twice a day - going to work and coming home, five days a week. I don’t think so Mr Main Dealer. Used the other car at weekends to ease the mileage.

Stop/start batteries seem to be a tad expensive comparatively if you look next time you are in Halfords.

Ditto faults with SAAB - I was always arguing with their warranty man about Ts & Cs.

Toyota would ring up and say ot was broken and needed fixing before it ever broke.
Have yet to test Skoda warranty.

you are on dodgy ground using the H word.. It was all a tad red faced, after lunch, as went down to move Heathers Peugot, only to find a flat battery. Charged up ok though. Out of interest rang local Garage to enquire cost of new one £48. Thank the lord i dont have one of your gizmos.

I have a Skoda and things were simple when I got it - it has a key you put in the ignition and turn. The engine then comes on and away you go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If like my Skoda RAF 96, you won't be testing the warranty. Mine has a zillion miles on it, is on the same battery, exhaust etc. Only changed the front discs and pads, wiper blades, tyres and that is absolutely it. It just keeps going and going. It's not pretty, fast or flash but it is reliable and cheap to run. Best car I've ever had bar none.
