Good luck with move Rob. Rather you than me. We looked at downsize, but legal and agents fees were about £20000. It was cheaper to engage a gardner, we felt, although we are dumping at tip each week. Need to sell railway, but not easy here in france.

Dogs have gone on holiday until Thursday.
We are out to the pub for tea in a bit. All the cooking and eating stuff is packed.
The place is like Amazon, boxes everywhere.
Car is to be packed with odds and sods and wait for the removal men to pitch up early doors tomorrow.
Then it's a case of waiting for the keys to be released for the new place and reverse the loading and packing process.
All jolly good fun at 80.
I will be happy to see the weekend over and some semblance of normal again.

Definitely good luck with everything.

I've discarded contents of boxes packed in our last move, 48 years ago, when packing for this move! At 70 my next move won't be so long in the future! :-)

Rob, at the time of writing this post, I suspect that you are between houses and classified as homeless. :D
Hope everything goes to plan and that you are soon settled.

Nicely installed at the new address.
The removal guys were great. The usual hiccough waiting for solicitors to come back from lunch before we could get the keys.
Broadband installed on Friday, All the stuff, I ordered such as oven, kitchen cupboards, etcarrived same day.
The search for boxes containing essential bits and bobs went well.
The kids came over today and blitzed the garden for us. Outside looks smashing.
The place just needs a full redec and a train set rebuilding, then we are golden.
Had all the adjacent neighbours chin-wagging in the garden today, lovely folk. The chap directly opposite was a full Colonel in the Army until retirement, so we got on well.
The dogs are loving the extra space to run around.
