Fantastic job - fabulous pictures. I wouldn't worry about dirty track, it adds to the effect. I looked at one of my loco's the other day, and didn't recall it being "weathered" - it was dust - quick shot of hairspray?? Barry

I watched your progress as you worked on it and now that it is back on the rails the whole scene you have created just looks amazing.

Thanks Puddles (+ anyone else that commented). As I do offer this as part of my painting service, I could be a bit ‘precious’ about the methods used and keep them to myself. But it’s all on YouTube anyway and some of the paints actually come with instructions, so I put these pictures and words on here to encourage others to have a go.

Today’s Tip: some years ago I picked up about a dozen static locos that were part of a magazine collection thingy. I try out techniques on them first and every so often give them a fresh coat of Halfords satin black to create a new test bed.
Much better then making a complete hash of an expensive loco.

Steve I like the way you added to the coaling stage. I did a similar thing. It is crying out for extra details isn’t it. Looks great.
