You can see from the wonky light on the wall that it still needs a permanent fix from months ago.l had to change one of the lights which stopped working and I know if I glue them all in place ‘‘tis Sod’s law another one will give up.

Put hazard tape around the bottom, orange and black diagonals or red and white, or even blue and white. The storyline would then be it's awaiting the local council to repair it after a RTA!

After spending all my time gardening I have managed to get a few hours to work on the layout today.
It was just like meeting an old friend, I built up the corner over the tunnel and put on some static grass which I do tend to get into a bit of a mess with. Hopefully a bit more modelling tomorrow and a good clear up.

Looking great Puddles. I haven’t used any static grass yet so any tips will be very welcome.

As I am on the wrong side of seventy and crawling around under the layout trying to cram multiple wires into terminal blocks seemed rather a daunting task so I came up with this idea. I made up small pieces of scrap plywood with threaded screws in them and fixed tags on the end of all the drop wires then slid the tags on ,tightened the nuts and screwed the plywood block up underneath. I used three foot lengths of peco flexi track and the layout is DC but I still soldered drop wires to every single length on the layout so there was a fair amount of wire to be connected together.
As I used eight controllers the wiring for each one just seemed a lot easier.

I have not had any problems with electrical continuity and it all works fine.
