Montgreenan
Re: Montgreenan
Thanks for all the positive feedback on my recent update...…..encouraged by the effects of my Industrial backscene, I ordered another more rural backscene to sit behind my town and this duly arrived this morning.
For some reason I have had more issues with air bubbles on this one, despite applying to the same painted surface and using the same adhesive as the other day, but I am hopeful it will get better as it dries out...….in addition there is one join that I am not delighted with, as it looks like the edge of the photo has been exposed to light, but this is in a forested area so should hopefully be easier to camouflage...….see pictures below, with the Maroon and Green diesel fleet getting a run-out in place of the normal BR Blue regime.
Lots of little finishing jobs now on the horizon to dress the various backdrops, but I think I can see the major build of this area of the layout now drawing to a close.
Cheers Richard.

Hello Hdog
Looking very good there.
I am a big fan of backscenes, it is truly amazing the difference they make to a layout.

Re: Montgreenan - Feedling time for Sulzers
Been working this weekend on completing the Knightwing PM136 Diesel Fuelling Point, which I had no sooner inserted between Fuel bay 1 and 2 at Montgreen TMD when a couple of thirsty Sulzers pulled up for a refill, including 26028 fresh from an overhaul and repaint at the St Rollox works………..lots still to do to get the depot fully operational, but watch this space.
The past week or more was spent building and painting a Ratio Midland Signal Box (Kit 536), as well as the interior fitting kit that compliments it...….tired of blue, grey and maroon, I decided to go for what has turned out like a GWR chocolate and cream colour scheme, but nice though it looks I am not sure it really goes well in the busy location I intended, and so in the fullness of time it might find itself in a more suitable rural location, as yet to be constructed at the other side of the layout.
In truth I am finding other jobs to do to avoid starting to weather and ballast track in and around the depot and adjacent branch line, but having fun all the same...….as always any feedback welcome - thanks Richard

Re: Montgreenan
looks really good, and its a great paint job on the signal box. maybe put some scaffold around it so it looks like they have just finished painting it, save having to weather it down

Re: Montgreenan
Hi Richard - It's all looking very good indeed. I had trouble with "air bubbles" under the backscene. I used self-adhesive ID Backscenes, which were very carefully applied to sealed ply backing boards, and I still got air bubbles, and sadly they don't go away with time unless you prick each one and smooth down with a cloth.
