Road Haulage -- The Big Toys
Road Haulage -- The Big Toys
Another interest of mine is Road haulage. Today I got the big toys out.
A bit bigger than 00 Gauge
All three vehicles are in Siddle Cook of Consett livery

They are magnificent. If I go to a Country Fair I always head to the lorries. Perhaps I could get a nice big O gauge one for my slowly developing layout.
Nurse, the screens!

Very impressive especially the last one. You could almost convert me
And the Lord said unto John “Come forth and receive eternal life”, but John came fifth and won a toaster!

They are 1-50 scale.
I believe there is only one vehicle now in Siddle C Cook livery. It belongs to Elddis Caravans. (Siddle backwards). Whenever we have seen it, it is off again before we can take a photograph of it.

That's the one. See the registration on the unit - Y100 SCC. Over 100 years since the birth of the original Company. SCC - Siddle C Cook off course.

Re: Road Haulage -- The Big Toys
The livery was resurrected by a grandson in honour of the old fella and the anniversary according to the Northern Echo article.
Edit - didn’t the two brothers have a falling out and the one set up Elddis and the other ERF. I seem to remember reading about in a caravan magazine many decades of moons ago.

Regarding ERF. The name ERF derives from Edwin Richard Foden. A separate Company altogether. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ERF_(truck_manufacturer)RAF96 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2020 8:10 pm The livery was resurrected by a grandson in honour of the old fella and the anniversary according to the Northern Echo article.

The ERF factory was only a few miles away from the Fodens factory in Sandbach, which I had a tour of when I was a Business Studies student back in the 1970s. Decades earlier they were well known for having Ladies football team.
