I've just succumbed and ordered a Class 66 - a Class 66 on Wykeham! Whatever next? It was in a good cause - the Capt. Tom Moore Class 66 Ltd Edition by Hornby. I'll now go and lie down. BB

I see that the limited edition of 500 has risen to 3000 - and Hornby are now donating £120K to the NHS. Sad to see some of the comments elsewhere, where customers have been cancelling their orders due to the number being produced no longer makes it a limited edition in their eyes. What a sad life some people lead.

They have probably realized the planned profit has diminished, so they cancelled there order. I buy because i like it, not for profit, i may poor but i`m happy
I did think hard for a few minutes about buying one as I applaud the idea and cause, but I sold a Class 66 a few months ago as it didn’t fit my modelling era’s, and so if purchased this model would probably never see the light of day on my layout and for me that is a cardinal sin.
Some of the negative comments I have read elsewhere are despicable. The extent that this model has 'taken off' is a tribute to the man and a mirror of how his 'sponsored walk' captured the imagination of the world.
So I am happy to join in the communal virtue signalling by announcing that I too have ordered one and hope that Hornby have to keep raising the volume of this not-so-limited edition to satisfy the demand.
Who will be first to complain that it's taking too long to be delivered?
eek!!!
that's 2 x Pilchards, 1 Cowans crane, 1 Class 68 DCC fitted, 1 Class 68 Sound fitted and now a class 66 all on pre-order.
though not directly affected as yet by current instances, however this will say a thank you to Macclesfield DG hospital during my pancreatitis problem, the Sheffield Northern General for my unscheduled overnight stay due to complications with my gall bladder op and my niece who is a NHS doctor on the frontline and in contact with COVID patients on the intensive care units.
