Hello All
Any ideas to glue corrugated aluminium foil to paper card. Thinking diluted aquadere. Hopefully I won't loose the corrugations when I do this. Alternative I was thinking maybe glue the plain foil down first then do the corrugations although it might not be as clear.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Dirk

Hi Dirk
Aquadere in the UK is a bituminous paint primer, but I believe down under it is a PVA adhesive. PVA will probably provide a weak bond since it relies on being absorbed into the surfaces being glued which tin foil is obviously not.
I would imagine a cyanoacrylate ie. Super glue would do the job but would work out expensive if it is applied over large surfaces. Contact adhesives are likely a cheaper option although ideally need applying to both surfaces which could be a problem with your corrugated tin foil. Do you have a glue called Copydex in Oz, this is a latex glue and seems good for a whole range of materials ideally fabric but will bond plastics and metal, the only downside is it stinks like rotten fish as it dries. I do know of one online modeller who uses it to bond his track down to the baseboard and it stays put.

I'd try spray adhesive. Spray carpet glue should be easily available

PVA will work. I used to stick plastic things to plastic things with it, figures to platforms for instance, and it was quite difficult to remove them.

Would be good if the world could get together and name things with the same common name.
Only need to do a small area 100mm x 100mm so might give the wood glue a shot or epoxy. Easily made so if it fails no great loss. Its for a rustic fishermans shack. Its not supposed to be neat so if its hanging loose here and there it might add to the effect.
No doubt about it this site is brilliant for help and ideas. Thanks everyone for the assist. Ill post a photo at a later date when its all done.
