It looks excellent, the undergrowth at this end in particular. The trees are equally stunning, very natural, are they yours? Can you share your technique?

I'll be interested to see the Kytes lights, I keep looking at theirs and Layouts4U, I particularly like the latter's ladderless yard lamps (063).

Like you and no doubt a lot of others I'm using the lockdown to progress 'Neptune Street'; a shed yard is fully wired with point motors now and those in a goods yard were installed yesterday, just to connect up. Not a lot to see so I've held off posting any images, there's only so many you can do of a control panel. I'll finish this and then into some retaining walls.

Again, excellent shrubbery.

Hi Richard - I agree with Carl - especially about the trees - they really are first class. Not something I have had a go at yet, but there is a box of seafoam lurking around somewhere. Barry

Many thanks for all the kind comments - it helps keep one on track when you are working by yourself in the garage with only the dog taking a passing interest.

The trees are Gaugemaster Seafoam (GM195) which I spray with a mounting adhesive and then sprinkle a mix of Gaugemaster leaves ( Light green GM 156, Medium Green GM157 and Dark Green GM158)........ no other hidden magic than that and I have done a few now and they have all turned out nicely....... This time for a couple of the trees, I first superglued two trunks together to get a more mature and substantial tree.

The “shrubbery” ( thanks Carl - that was the word I was searching for last night) was primarily made from gorse and mixed bushes + heathers all sourced from Tajimal Minatures, with whom I have no connection other than that of a satisfied customer. I also added some fine yellow frozen crayon scrapings to represent some flowering in the tall bush, which was formed from small off-cut Seafoam branches.

Hope this all makes sense.......wtg some more supplies to apply finishing touches to this area - still learning with static grass, but for the first time used Woodland Scenics grass and it was head and shoulders above the cheaper stuff I originally sourced for my first venture into this area.

Just a quick update to build on the progress made over Easter...…...managed to install a security fence around the railway's parking area, whilst in the Rail's of Sheffield Easter sale I captured a very timely bargain with the Bachmann Scenecraft Footbridge, which I think is a nice and appropriate addition...…….I also "re-laid" the static grass with better quality Woodlands Scenics products and added some additional shrubbery and weeds etc...……..a few more touches required to finish off this area, but quite pleased with the outcome.

Will be crossing the footbridge next to tackle some landscaping in the area adjacent to the signal box, but that will probably be next week as chores beckon tomorrow.......….hope everybody is safe and well and enjoying their trains or modelling time - cheers Richard.

Hi Chaps,

Made a some more progress on the area adjacent to my signal box at Portencross junction...…….experimented with gathering leftover twigs and small leafed areas into a tangled mess to represent "jaggy bushes and nettles", and then spreading this across the ground around one of the bridge supports and then to the far right of the grassed area ( on this one I sprinkled yellow crayon to give it some flowering) - see last picture

Quite pleased with the results, but need to add some more strategically placed weeds as it still looks too manicured in places.
