I decided to have a bit of a rethink on the goods yard; what's the point in having a theoretical dock branch and fish loading sheds without a dock side? So I've lifted one of the sidings and cut the raised baseboard away, this will be the dock side/dock basin. I've just lined it out tonight, next will go in the rough stone walls and wooden piles.





The first shed's roof is finally done (both sides), painting and weathering to do so see how it looks. Pre-made plastic sheeting would have been much quicker than cutting up foil baking trays. Further work to do, canopy supports, wooden doors and anything else I've missed.

A man after my own heart - if in doubt, cut out a chunk of baseboard!
Plastic corrugated sheets would have been quicker but would not look as good as the ones you have made.

A touch more progress on the dock side;





Base colour for the stonework on and wooden piles in. Mud bank, water and loads of muck and weathering to come.

To recreate the line of seaweed that clings to the bottom of the harbour walls try using tea leaves thrown into glue dabbed on the wall.

Don't forget the 'slime green' line of fine seaweed that also forms along the bottom of the wall. Once you have the right shade, put a line of masking tape along the wall then dab the paint on with a small offcut of sponge. Finally streak the dabs down with a dry brush. Then add the tea leaves.
That's the way I did it anyway.
