Does that section have a dropper or direct feed, or is it being fed by another section and fish plates?

Is the track a straight or on a curve ?

Is the track flat or have any super elevation ?

Maybe there is wear in the wheels, pickups that cause the engine to rock slightly and lose contact with the rails ?
