Tyne & Wear Metro (BR Class 994)

Just having a thought, were the Tyne & Wear Metro (BR Class 994) ever made in 00, or are the few examples I have seen most likely been made from scratch building?

Google has not been helpful so far.

I asked on the Facebook page of the Metro and they replied as far as they know there are no manufacturers of Metro trains.

Here is a local newspaper report of a display layout featuring the Metrocars used:

There are also a number of YouTube videos featuring models of the MetroCars and some stations.

Thanks for that.

It looks like they are mostly scratch built. A gap in the market you’d have thought.

A bit specialised I’d have thought. Would they sell many?

Not very likely. Probably only about half a dozen. ;)
