Thin ply for model buildings?

Has anybody used thin ply or balsa for a building and faced it with card or paper. I am hoping to construct a 600mm long warehouse building which might be stronger and more rigid if built in ply.
Any suggestion, ideas or thoughts please? Thanks.

Brian 1951, what sort of board have you used for the building in the photographs please?

Just scrap ply and some Balsa on the roof, plenty around in skips or old furniture draws.

Plasticard John, Most model shops sell it or ebay

A lightweight alternative is to use 2mm or 3mm thick Foamboard for the basic structure. Easy to cut and bond together
