Soldering marathon completed yesterday and a dozen lights assembled today. More assembly and some painting tomorrow morning.

They should end up with the top of the baseboard about halfway between the signal head and the heatshrink that holds them together. The heatshrink should form a ‘plug’ in the hole to be drilled in the boards and allow me to infill with ballast etc to hide the hole.

Still nothing on the TV and we did all our Christmas visits yesterday, so, inspite of a sore throat and cold, I managed to get a bit of time in the shed. Installed a few of the new lights on this section which proved to be trickier than expected.
All the units were tested during manufacture but for some reason a couple of them illuminated both LEDs when installed. Swapped them out for others I had made and all is well. I’m guessing the heatshrink may have moved and exposed enough wire to allow a short circuit - should be able to rewire them in due course.

That looks lovely Steve (the lights) and the work you have done with the dirty track. Very realistic. I am going to try and copy soe of your stuff but doubt I shall match it...........John

Ballast looks like it is supporting the track.
