LOW GHYLL
Re: LOW GHYLL
Thanks Roger, once I get an idea I have to get it done quickly or I forget completely. Overall height is 10cms.

Re: LOW GHYLL
The lights are now painted and the sockets glued in place on the layout but not yet wired up. One issue bough, one plug has a bent connector inside so I’ll have to replace that one. That’s the downside of using cheap components I suppose.
That will all have to wait as we’re out for lunch then I’m off to Barcelona and the layout doesn’t qualify as hand luggage.

Re: LOW GHYLL
Look great Steve. What is the metal component called that you have the lamp sitting in (the bit that is in the baseboard)?

P.s. You can pay ahead for hand luggage you know, but cabin crew can be a bit iffy about soldering irons. Have a great trip

Re: LOW GHYLL
It wouldn’t fit in the overhead lockers.
The ‘bit’ in the baseboard is a standard 2.5mm jack socket with the cover removed - I think the sprung contact inside one has snagged on the plug and got bent. Will have to drill out the whole thing as I araldite the damn things in.

Are you copying me or am I copying you? Although I am sure I’ve read about this method before - God knows where.
