I also use a small tin of paint and a small brush. I find two coats is often needed for rail sides. Back ache for me is the biggest challenge!

If you’re in the north east (just over the North Yorkshire border) try Three Brothers beers (based in Stockton) and Guisborough Brewery (obviously based in Guisborough). Both do recommended brews, often served in my social club.

I too wonder if other retailers will follow. Models are certainly becoming more expensive - is it due to modellers asking for increasing levels of detail? Perhaps producing more basic models that run well and leaving modellers to add the details if they so wish is the way to go. For example, how dif...

As MG says, do lots of research before you make decisions re: scale, era etc. Visits to exhibitions and reading magazines is the way to go. Certainly as you get older the larger scales are easier to see/work with. I went dcc from the start as it seemed easier to wire up. I don’t regret this decision...

Great idea - like it. I had a Triumph Spitfire back in the day. T reg. bright yellow. The interior was lovely and it retained that old school smell as opposed to todays new car smell of plastic and glue.

Thanks for your reply SR. As regards the setts (Wills plastic OO) I stuck card between the rails to raise the level of the setts. I then stuck the setts on top of the card. Careful measuring, cutting and paring of the plastic if needed was then carried out. Before the adhesive dried I ensured a wago...
